Toe to Toe” is a track written for my little girl. Written too express how much I wish things were different. To express how even though I only see her every week or so, I am going to dedicate my life to keeping her happy and building her up. That even though I may not be her bio-dad, I have been nothing but honoured to fill that position in her life. Raising her brother has deffinitely been a constant learning curve for me. Though she’s safe and sound where she is, I do wish I spent more time with her.
So when I sat down to write this song I wrote it with the mission of being honest with myself. And I guess in turn being honest with all of you..
I was writting a track that would both remind me I could always do better and something that will tell her “Nothing can stop you if you keep your head up” at the same time. I feel I accomplished that.
